Arranging a funeral

Bringing someone home.

Many people who grew up in these hills want to come home to rest, wherever life took them. Others who made their lives here want to return to their own country. We can arrange both.

Bringing someone home to Wales

From elsewhere in the UK. If someone dies in another part of the country, call us. We travel to bring them back to our care in Welshpool, and deal with the hospital, coroner and register office there for you.

From abroad. We work with specialist international repatriation firms, the British consulate and travel insurers, and meet your loved one at the airport to bring them home. What to do when someone dies abroad.

Taking someone home to another country

If your family would like a funeral in another country, we prepare everything here: the paperwork, the coroner’s permission to move them out of England and Wales, which needs a few days’ notice, and the specialist firm who prepares them for travel as the airline and the destination country require.

We will explain each step, keep you updated, and work with the funeral director at the other end.

Ashes travel more simply

If they are cremated here, their ashes can be taken abroad in hand luggage or posted with the right paperwork. We will give you the documents airlines and customs ask for.

What it costs

Repatriation costs depend on the distance, the country and the airline, so we give each family a written quotation. Travel insurance often covers it, and we are happy to deal with the insurer directly.

Whenever you are ready.

If someone has died, please call us at any hour and we will come to you. For anything else, you are welcome to call, write or call in.
