Arranging a funeral
Green and natural funerals.
For many people in Mid Wales, the most fitting place to rest is under the grass and the trees, in the hills they knew. A green funeral is gentle on the land, and often beautifully simple.

Natural burial grounds
A natural burial ground is a meadow or woodland where graves are marked by a tree, a wildflower patch or a small wooden plaque rather than a headstone. Over time it returns to nature, and many families find it a peaceful place to visit.
There are natural burial grounds within reach of Welshpool on both sides of the border, and we will tell you about each one. Some families also choose burial on their own land, which is possible with the landowner’s permission. We can advise you on what is involved.

Nothing that harms the earth
We do not embalm. Your loved one is dressed in natural fabrics such as cotton, wool or linen, and the coffin is lined with unbleached cotton. Flowers can come from your own garden or from local growers.
Other green choices
- A shroud instead of a coffin, in wool or cotton.
- Planting a tree in their memory.
- Sharing cars, or walking behind the coffin for the last stretch.
- A service outdoors, at the graveside, in a garden, or on a hill.
- Donations to a local nature charity instead of flowers.
Whenever you are ready.
If someone has died, please call us at any hour and we will come to you. For anything else, you are welcome to call, write or call in.
