Information we publish under the Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021, so that you know who owns the business and about any interests that could matter to you.
Who owns the business
R G Peate Funeral Services Ltd (company number 08456923) is wholly owned by R. Geraint Peate and Anne Peate. It is an independent family business and is not part of any group.
Business interests
R G Peate Funeral Services Ltd is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Golden Charter Limited, trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 965279). This means we can introduce you to Golden Charter if you would like to know about a pre-paid funeral plan. We do not sell plans or give advice about them, and we do not receive commission for introductions.
The florists we recommend each pay us a fixed fee of £15 for each funeral they supply flowers for, paid when they deliver. It is the same whatever is ordered, and our florists have agreed not to pass it on to families, so you pay the florist’s usual prices. We do not supply flowers ourselves, families pay the florist directly, and they are welcome to use any florist. Floral tributes.
We have no interest in any price comparison website, and no other business interests or arrangements that would affect the cost or arrangement of a funeral.
Register of donations
The Order asks funeral directors to keep and publish a register of any payments or donations of £250 or more made to hospitals, hospices, care homes and similar organisations, and to update it every six months.
We have made no such payments or donations in the last six months. Our full register is available on request from our office.
Separately, we sometimes support local clubs and events. Details of any sponsorship of £250 or more a year are available on request.
