If you are thinking ahead.
Some people like to know their wishes are written down, so that their family will not have to guess. Others want to pay for their funeral in advance. You can do either, or both, in your own time.
Two ways to plan

Paying in advance
A pre-paid funeral plan
A pre-paid funeral plan lets you arrange and pay for your funeral in advance. Plans are provided by Golden Charter, and you can choose R G Peate as your funeral director. We do not sell plans or give advice about them ourselves. We can introduce you to Golden Charter, or you can call them directly.
Your wishes
What you might like to write down.
There is no right or wrong. Even a few lines can be a great comfort to the people arranging your funeral.
You are also welcome to call in and leave a copy with us, and we will keep it safe.
- Burial or cremation, and where you would like to rest.
- The hymns, music and readings you would like.
- Who you would like to lead the service, and in which language.
- Flowers, or a charity for donations.
- Anything your family should know.
Already have a plan?
If you or a family member already have a funeral plan, with Golden Charter or another provider, please let us know and bring the documents when we meet. If it names another funeral director, the plan provider can explain your options.

As an introducer, we can pass you information about Golden Charter’s plans and introduce you to them, but we cannot give advice or sell a plan. Funerals arranged without a pre-paid plan are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
