Arranging a funeral
Direct cremation and burial.
Sometimes a service at the crematorium or graveside is not what a family wants, or what the person wanted. A direct funeral is simple, quiet and dignified, and it leaves you free to remember them in your own way.

- Direct cremation, including the cremation fee
- £1,800
- Direct burial, our charges (burial fee extra)
- £1,550
What it means
In a direct, or unattended, funeral, family and friends do not attend the cremation or burial itself. We take your loved one to the crematorium or cemetery quietly, at a time the crematorium or cemetery arranges, and everything is done with the same care as any other funeral.
What is included
- Bringing them into our care, at any hour.
- All the paperwork, and liaising with the doctors and the crematorium.
- Caring for them in our chapel of rest in Welshpool.
- A simple coffin.
- Taking them to the crematorium or cemetery.
- For a cremation, the crematorium’s fee.
You can still say goodbye
You can visit them in our chapel of rest before the cremation, by appointment. And many families hold their own gathering afterwards: a service in the chapel, a walk on a favourite hill, a meal at home, scattering the ashes together. We are happy to help with that too.
The ashes
We collect the ashes from the crematorium and you can collect them from us, or we can bring them to you for £30. We can also arrange for them to be buried or scattered, or placed in an urn or keepsake.
Is it right for us?
Direct cremation suits families who would rather hold a memorial in their own time, people who asked for no fuss, and those for whom cost matters most. If you are not sure, call us and we will talk it through honestly. There is no pressure either way.
Whenever you are ready.
If someone has died, please call us at any hour and we will come to you. For anything else, you are welcome to call, write or call in.
