About us
A Welshpool family, looking after Welshpool families.
R G Peate has arranged funerals from Salop Road since 1978. It is still a family business: the phone is answered by the family, and the family will look after you.

Since 1978
Geraint Peate began arranging funerals in Welshpool in 1978. Nearly fifty years later, he still does, with his wife Anne beside him. Between them they have looked after families from Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion and the villages and farms between, often several generations of the same family.
Being local matters. We know the chapels and the churches, the ministers and the organists, the cemeteries and the crematorium, and very often the family too. When you call us, you are not put through to a call centre. You speak to one of us.

The family
The people who will look after you.
Geraint Peate
Funeral director
Geraint founded the business in 1978 and has looked after families from Salop Road ever since.
Anne Peate
Funeral director and company secretary
Anne, known to many families as Annie, has run the business alongside Geraint for decades.
Bethan Davies-Peate
Director
Bethan became a director of the business in 2025.
Our extended family.
Alongside the family are the people who work with us, and whom families come to know just as well. Between them, they make sure every funeral is cared for properly, from the first call to the last car leaving.
Anne Price
Secretary, organiser and PA to Geraint
Anne keeps the office, the diary and the paperwork in order, along with the many small arrangements behind each funeral. If you ring during the day, it may well be Anne who answers, and once she has written something down, you can be sure it will be done.
Clive
Assistant undertaker
Clive does much of the careful, unseen work before a funeral and is there on the day itself, making sure everything is exactly as it should be. Quiet, steady and never hurried, he is the kind of person you are glad to have beside you.

Our chapels of rest
Welshpool and Llanfair Caereinion.
From the moment we bring someone into our care, they stay with us, in our own chapels of rest in Welshpool and in Llanfair Caereinion, looked after by the family.
You are welcome to visit them, by appointment, as often as you would like. The rooms are quiet and private, and you can stay for as long as you need.
